As the President of the Board and Corporate Secretary, I am The Boss. In 1956, my father, W. C. Whitecotton, left a secure job with Southwestern Bell, so that he and my mom, Reba, could purchase the Elkhart Telephone Company. They were true mavericks and instilled that spirit in the EPICTOUCH culture. They also built the company on the premise of keeping priorities in the order of God, Family, and then work. When you walk into any of our offices or encounter any team member, you will notice the family spirit is alive and well. One of my priority roles is to be the glue that holds everything tightly together and keeps us holding on to the culture and beliefs of my parents. My day consists of processing and organizing the mounds of records it takes to operate and grow the various businesses Bob and I own. I work very closely with the Leadership Team to define, refine, and communicate the long-term vision for EPICTOUCH.
I am very proud of the EPICTOUCH team, and it is an honor to work with each team member. One of the favorite parts of my job is getting to set down with team members and learn more about them, their families, and their needs. When not working at EPICTOUCH, I love being with my family, especially my grandkids. Fortunately, most every day I am able to spend time with my husband, Bob, and walk with him through the trials and challenges that dementia brings his way. Over the last year and a half, I have learned to enjoy and appreciate the company of the six cats in our home. Thank you to everyone that has allowed us to serve you over the last sixty years.
Dr. Guy Grimes
Board Secretary
Upon entering the Boaldin family as Bob and Dian’s son-in-law in 1985, not only did I come to love the Boaldin family but also became quite close to Reba Whitecotton, the one who alongside her husband, started Elkhart Telephone Company in 1956. My background includes 40 years of pastoring youth, college students, and churches, teaching in higher education, and serving on various community and institution boards. I am a Marriage and Family Therapist and currently provide professional counseling services for underserved populations. I have been engaged with Bob, Dian, Trent, and Roxanna for the past 20 years to support, affirm, and retain the family legacy of God, Family and Work and more recently as an EPICTOUCH board member. My current role as Board Secretary is to ensure the bylaws and rules are followed in meetings and to document and record for the organization and steward the values of God, Family and Work in the EPICTOUCH family. I am fully committed to the preservation of that legacy alongside the EPICTOUCH family.
Roxanna Grimes
Executive Vice-President
My grandfather, W.C. Whitecotton, hired me as the janitor of Elkhart Telephone for 50 cents an hour when I was in 4th grade. I moved up through the ranks as a grade-schooler ranging from janitorial, bank and post office errands, working the counter, cleaning all the phone booths in town, cleaning the rented and returned phones and testing the ringers. I graduated from Kansas State University and worked in Texas, Oklahoma and California alongside my husband in ministry for 37 years. I am a Registered Addiction Specialist and provide professional counseling services for under-served populations. I have been engaged with the family as an EPICTOUCH board member for the past 20 years. More recently my role has changed to Executive Vice-President where I believe my most important tasks are to steward the family legacy, retain and pass on the values of God, Family and Work, and project a living and ongoing vision alongside the EPICTOUCH family for broadband in rural America.
Becky Scott
President
I joined EPICTOUCH in June 1998. An Elkhart native, I returned to my hometown after graduating from Emporia State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. Taking care of our customers and communities is an important part of reaching the EPICTOUCH vision statement of “Delivering your broadband services with the EPICTOUCH.” EPICTOUCH is a great place to be and there certainly is never a dull moment. As Bob Boaldin said so many times, “If you aren’t making dust, you’re eating others’ dust.” We are definitely making dust as we work each day to be your superior choice for broadband service in both Kansas and Louisiana regions. I am proud of our EPICTOUCH family and the commitment each one of us put in on behalf our families, companies and communities.
Mike Wiegers
Chief Technology Officer
As Chief Technology Officer, it is my role to oversee the day to day operations of the Broadband infrastructure and all technology related decisions. And through strategic planning, to find ways to help these areas of our company enhance our customer’s experiences. I joined EPICTOUCH in August 1990, moving our family here from my hometown of Leoti, Kansas. I have worked in the communications field since 1977 and it is my passion! I appreciate that this company was built with the family legacy of keeping priorities in the order of God, Family, and then work. I love all three and try to keep them in that order.
